"Why should the calculus of the destinies not have its thorny parts?"

Salish Lodge, Snoqualmie, Washington, and the Snoqualmie Falls.  Exterior location for the Great Northern Hotel in “Twin Peaks.” We had dinner in the Lodge’s Attic, a bar that overlooks the falls.
An almost-perfect meal—breathtaking view, cheese plate, good wine, good friends and conversation. Slightly marred by the Most Awkward Date Ever, which was occurring just behind me.  I expected to overhear assignations full of danger and intrigue, not deeply boring blind dates. But the assignations probably don’t start filtering in til after 10, eh?
